A EULOGY FOR THE GHOST AND A CHRISTENING FOR THE BABE
Hush now, little one. You did not just commit a mistake. You have finally entered my new realm of thoughts, words and imagination. So, how about my old white blog? It's still there up and running, and you can still read my old blog posts if you have the want and the time. You may be wondering why I bothered to run a new blog when I already have one. The reason is quite simple. It was the natural thing to do. Like a demo-dog that needs to molt in order to get larger (and way scarier), I also need to molt, to change. And in that process, I also have to let go of my old blog which I've been keeping since 2011. I even thought of renaming and revamping it but it is not the same. The words of the past still linger even though I change the colors, fonts and title of the blog. It is just the way it is.
And I need something new and fresh.
Why is that?
For starters, I just graduated college which meant I actually finished my education. It was definitely a huge milestone for me and my family but it also meant having to close a chapter of my life where I was always wearing a uniform and asking my parents for allowance (which I still do today). Closing that chapter somehow, made me realize that life has handed me a new responsibility: to be a member of the Republic of the Philippines and not just a student labeled with its school emblem. With that being said, I realized that one day, I will be one of the professionals donning corporate attires going to and from work. One day, I will have to pay my bills, clean my place and pay taxes! And being myself, I have to chronicle all those milestones and I need to do it somewhere.
Here.
In this blog.
Where I can grow, stumble and get back up as a young adult and not as a naive child.
Don't get me wrong though. I will always cherish my old blog and the stories that it holds. After all, it houses my crazy journey from high school to college! It taught me not only to speak of my personal life but it gave me the courage to talk about national and international issues and to protect the institution that I love. But still, we need to move forward. I need to move forward. After all, it's already 2018! It is another year promising us of more adventures, milestones, hurdles and most of all, life.
